The ore body in this mines area (map of the Capo Calamita promontory) is magnetite (often pseudomorphous after hematite) and limonite, with skarns (mainly hedenbergite and ilvaite and some andradite). There is a copper and little cobalt mineralisation

Some of these pieces come from my '70s findings.

 




Andradite
XX of andradite, up to 0.8 cm wide, with deeply altered hedembergite. It comes from the skarn rich in andradite

Microcrystalline incrustatio of clinoatacamite. It cames from a narrow space, in a matrix Mg oxides rich (see the black areas in the 3rd photo)

Chrysocolla
Encrusting of minerals: it could be chrysocolla (?) after malachite in the central part, since there are some tufts of acicular XX, blue colored (it does not seem to be auricalcite, I have been told that auricalcite comes from another stope in this area). Around the blue zone, there is green malachite. With black Manganese oxides

On this piece of jasper (?), intensely colored by very thin encrusting of irridescent goethite (3rd photo),  there are a lot of amber-yellow coatings of minute XX of jarosite, on both sides
