My Romanian Minerals came from the region of Maramures, situated in the north-west of Romania. There are very famous minerals districts and mines. The country seat is Baia Mare.
I have been informed that in September 2007 the pumps in the mines have been turned off and the mines are flooded

Large XX, up to 10cm long, grouped in a rounded formation. Baryte is covered by small quartz XX, with some pyrite and calcite

Pink calcite, probably manganoan calcite: combination of rhombs, grown togheter and covered by a 2nd generation of microcrystalline calcite (a sort of sandwich habit)

Calcite
A block of compact sphalerite is covered by sugar-like microcrystralline quartz; over it some calcite XX, up to 3 cm wide, have grown. They are thin and plate scalenohedrons

Two XX, twinned in an unusual "butterfly" formation, 5.8cm wide. The biggest X is 4cm long. On a sphalerite plate covered by small gray quartz XX and minor manganoan calcite XX

Realgar
XX and masses of red realgar slightly and partially alterated, scattered around the quartz. Quartz is in XX of different size, the biggest is 3.2x1.6cm. There is stibnite in micro grains spread around the quartz

Stibiconite
Prismatic XX of stibnite transformed in stibiconite; up to 2 cm long. There is a stibiconite problem, since it is not a discredited mineral, but now is considered questionable.

Prismatic XX up to 2cm tall, on calcite covering chalcopyrite in some XX (It is not a valid IMA mineral, because it is an intermediate between hubnerite and ferberite with unspecified chemical composition). I suppose this piece is ferberite
